DHAKA, April 25, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit arrested four individuals for their involvement in an online fraud linked to the alleged leakage of SSC 2026 examination questions on Thursday and Friday.
The arrested individuals are Md. Sifat Ahmed Sajib (22), Md. Salman (22), Md. Mechbaul Alam Mahin (19), and Md. Mahiduzzaman Munna (19).
Joint Commissioner of CTTC Munshi Shahabuddin disclosed the information today in a press briefing at DMP Media Centre on Mintoo Road here.
"Efforts are ongoing to arrest others involved in the scheme. Legal proceedings against the detainees are currently underway," he said.
The operation began on April 20 when the city intelligence analysis division identified suspicious activity on a Facebook page titled "SSC 2026 Question Leak Group" during routine social media monitoring.
Based on collected intelligence and technical analysis, a CTTC team conducted a drive in Ashulia's Zirabo Tazpur area and arrested Sajib.
Following his confession and further investigation, Salman was arrested on Thursday at his residence in Dhunat, Bogura. On the same day, Mahin was apprehended from a rural road near Nawabganj Bazaar in Dinajpur district.
Later, based on information provided by the detainees, Munna was arrested on Friday from his father-in-law's house near Shah Sharif Jindani (R) shrine in Tarash, Sirajganj.
Police seized mobile phones used by the suspects and found evidence of their involvement in spreading false claims about SSC question leaks and conducting fraudulent activities.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the group attempted to exploit students and guardians financially by spreading rumors of question leaks, thereby creating panic, confusion, and ethical disruption in the examination system.
A case has been filed against the accused with Ramna Model Police Station under the DMP.
