DHAKA, April 23, 2026 (BSS) - Two people were killed after a passenger bus lost control and ran over them in front of Setu Bhaban in the capital's Banani area this afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Md Muslim Uddin, 74, and Md Sagar Mia, 35. Police said the victims were day labourers.

They were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared them dead around 6:20pm.

Sub-Inspector Md Rafiqul Islam of Banani Police Station said the bus has been seized and legal action is underway.
