DHAKA, April 22, 2026 (BSS) – The government has sent 11 Deputy Inspector generals (DIGs) and two Addl-DIGs into retirement.

The information was announced through a notification signed by Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Manzur Morshed Chowdhury.

The order, issued in the public interest, takes effect immediately.

The officials who have been sent to retirement are - Dr AFM Masum Rabbani, Muhammad Ashrafuzzaman, AZM Nafiul Islam, Mohammad Abul Faiyez, Md Monirul Islam, Mahfuzur Rahman, Md Munibur Rahman, Shamima Begum, Md Abul Kalam Siddique, Md Aminul Islam and Salma Begum.

The two Addl-DIGs are Md Shakhawat Hossain and Md Iqbal Hossain.

According to the notification, they have been sent to retirement from government service in the public interest under Section 45 of the Government Service Act, 2018 (Act No. 57 of 2018).

The notifications also stated that they will receive all retirement benefits in accordance with the rules.
