DHAKA, April 20, 2026 (BSS) - A Dhaka court today ordered the seizure of tax files of former Public Administration Minister Farhad Hossain and his wife Monalisa Islam over graft allegations.
 
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
 
According to the ACC petition, Farhad Hossain allegedly abused his position to make suspicious transactions of about Taka 6.35 crore beyond known sources of income, while Monalisa Islam, in collusion with him, allegedly acquired assets worth about Taka 94.05 crore beyond known sources of income.
 
The petition said seizure of their tax records is necessary for a proper investigation.
