MADARIPUR, April 19, 2026 (BSS)-  Member of Parliament for the Madaripur-3 constituency and Assistant Secretary for Mass Education of BNP Anisur Rahman Talukder Khokon has said a vested group, which opposed nation’s independence in 1971, is still working against the country and spreading propaganda.

He made the remarks while inaugurating canal digging programme in Khoajpur and Jhaudi unions of the district's Sadar Upazila this morning.
He said, “An anti-state circle is trying to create instability through various tactics. They are spreading propaganda against the government through different media and are actively engaged in creating confusion.”

Khokon said previously social media was used to spread confusion, and now attempts are being made to exert influence using various financial means. However, the public is aware of these malicious attempts.

He claimed that the people of the country are in favour of development and positive activities and have faith in the ideals of the late Begum Khaleda Zia and the Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.

Local public representatives, party leaders and activists, and eminent citizens of the area were present.
