DHAKA, April 19, 2026 (BSS) - Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS)
Barrister Kayser Kamal today said that union-based committees will be formed
to accelerate development activities in his constituency.

The Deputy Speaker made the remarks when a 15-member delegation of imams from
his constituency paid a courtesy call on him at his office in the Jatiya
Sangsad Bhaban today.

During the meeting, he inquired about their well-being and sought their
cooperation and prayers in discharging his responsibilities, said a press
release.

Barrister Kamal said that people from different faiths live in his
constituency and that, in phases, all will be invited to visit the parliament
and observe its proceedings.

"Today you have come; earlier, a Christian delegation also visited. In this
way, people from all walks of life in my constituency will be invited so that
they can gain an understanding about the parliament," he added.

The Deputy Speaker said, "I have been elected as a Member of Parliament by
your votes, and it is because of you that I have been nominated as the Deputy
Speaker in this Parliament. I have great responsibility and accountability
towards you."

He further said that committees will be formed at the union level to carry
out development works effectively.

Stressing the need to curb corruption and nepotism from the society, he urged
the delegation to play a role in resolving social disputes through community-
based mediation.

"I have been working with utmost honesty and want to continue doing so.
Please pray that Almighty Allah assists me in all my efforts," the Deputy
Speaker added.
