DHAKA, April 16, 2026 (BSS) - Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Barrister Kayser Kamal today said that ensuring the rights of the people remains their goal.
Kamal made the remarks when members of the Christian community from his constituency made a courtesy call on him at his office in the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban today.
During the meeting, the Deputy Speaker exchanged greetings with the visitors, inquired about their well-beings, and sought their cooperation in maintaining peace and discipline for the overall development of the area, said a press release.
He said that people from all religious communities in his constituency—including Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, as well as ethnic groups like the Garo and Hajong—would be invited in phases to visit the Jatiya Sangsad and observe its proceedings.
“Today you have come. In the future, delegations of imams, Hindu priests, Garo and Hajong representatives, along with students, farmers, and workers will also be invited so that people from all walks of life can gain a better understanding of parliament,” he added.
The Deputy Speaker further said, “This parliament belongs to the people. I have been elected by the estimated voters of my constituency, and it is because of them that I am able to speak in parliament today. Therefore, I remain accountable to them.”
He also sought prayers for his continued success in serving the people.
