DHAKA, Apr 16, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has awarded its officers across various ranks in recognition of outstanding performance in maintaining law and order, controlling crime, and ensuring public safety in the capital.

The awards were handed over by DMP Commissioner (Acting) Md Sarwar at the monthly crime review meeting for March 2026, held today at the DMP Headquarters conference room.

In the March evaluation, Mirpur Division named as the best among DMP's crime divisions, while Hazaribagh Police Station emerged as the best police station.

Among Assistant Police Commissioners, Md Zahid Hossain of Pallabi Zone was recognized as the best. In the Sub-Inspector (SI) category, SI Abu Sayem of Khilgaon Police Station and SI Md. Hafizur Rahman of Bhatara Police Station were jointly selected as the best performers.

In the Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) category, ASI Md Akhteruzzaman Mondal Palash of Jatrabari Police Station and ASI Md Rakibul Hasan of Mohammadpur Police Station were jointly awarded.

Among detective branches, DB-Lalbag Division secured the top position. The best team leader award went to Additional Deputy Commissioner Md. Fazlul Karim, of the Wari Zonal Team under DB-Wari Division.

In the traffic division, Traffic-Gulshan Division was named the best. Sergeant Anjum Al-Hasib of Mohakhali Traffic Zone and Sergeant Russell Alam of Mohammadpur Traffic Zone were jointly recognized as the best traffic sergeants.

The meeting was attended by senior DMP officials, including Additional Police Commissioners overseeing Crime and Operations, Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime, Detective Branch, Traffic, Protection and Diplomatic Security, Estate, Development and ICT, along with Joint Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and other officers.
