DHAKA, April 16, 2026 (BSS) - Md. Zakaria officially assumed office today as the Secretary of the Ministry of Shipping.

Earlier he served as a Member (Secretary) of the Planning Commission, said a press release. 

Zakaria was promoted to the position of Secretary on March 30, 2026, and joined as a Member (Secretary) of the Planning Commission. 

Later, on April 12, 2026, the Public Administration Ministry issued a notification appointing him as Secretary of the Ministry of Shipping.
