DHAKA, Apr 16, 2026 (BSS) - Police today arrested 25 individuals during a special operation conducted in different areas under Hazaribagh Thana in the capital. 

The drive was carried out targeting various crime-prone areas. The arrested persons were allegedly involved in multiple offences.

Deputy Commissioner Media and Public Relations Division, DMP, NM Nasir Uddin confirmed the arrest.

The arrestees are -- Md. Monir Hossain ,30, Lal Chan ,36, Tanmoy Islam Farhan ,29, Md. Mamun ,37, Md. Khairul Islam ,25, Md. Fahim ,23, Md. Hasib ,23, Md. Mehedi ,24, Md. Hossain Rubel alias Rabbi ,28, Md. Ibrahim ,38, Md. Saiful Islam ,30, Md. Ifte ,25, Md. Ripon Hossain ,34, Md. Imam Hossain ,28, Sheikh Md. Tajul Islam ,59, Md. Shariful Islam ,48, Md. Ekramul Haque ,20, Md. Kaiyum ,24, Md. Mithu ,24, Md. Hridoy ,23, Md. Mozammel Hossain ,33, along with Ms. Shahnaz Begum , Md. Munna, Md. Miron, and Md. Rubel Mia.

Police also recovered 14 pieces of yaba tablets and 17 packets of cannabis (ganja) from their possession during the operation.

All arrested individuals have been sent to court, police said.
