CAAB chief stresses improved Hajj services at airports

DHAKA, April 12, 2026 (BSS) - Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) chairman Air Vice Marshal Md Mostafa Mahmood Siddiq today stressed enhancing service quality, time management and inter-agency coordination to ensure smooth and hassle-free travel for Hajj pilgrims. 

He made the call when inspected the Hajj camp and Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to review preparations for this year's Hajj operations, according to a CAAB press release. 

During his visit to the Hajj camp, he assessed overall readiness, evaluated service quality and spoke with staff at service counters to monitor ongoing activities.

He issued directives to all concerned agencies to ensure greater convenience for pilgrims, with particular emphasis on improving service standards and expediting procedures.

Later at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, the chairman reviewed overall Hajj management and closely observed passenger handling, boarding procedures, security arrangements, baggage management and ground handling operations.

He also exchanged views with officials and provided guidance on existing service standards, potential challenges and immediate solutions.

Expressing optimism, he hoped that coordinated efforts of all stakeholders would ensure smooth and efficient Hajj operations this year.

Among others, CAAB Member (Operations and Planning) Air Commodore Abu Sayeed Mehboob Khan, was present.
