DHAKA, April 7, 2026 (BSS) - The Country Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) Simone Parchment met with the State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief M. Iqbal Hossain at the Secretariat this morning.

During the meeting, the director briefed the State Minister on the activities of the World Food Programme stating that her organization is working closely and intensively with the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief to alleviate the suffering caused by disasters and to stand by affected people.

Welcoming the delegation, the State Minister expressed hope that WFP’s activities would be further expanded in the coming days.

Among others, WFP Senior Partnership Adviser Md. Mohsin, Head of Programme Jesse Wood, and Head of Emergency Preparedness and Response Mahfuz Alam were present at the meeting.
