CHATTOGRAM, Feb 24, 2026 (BSS) - Member of Parliament Nurul Amin of Chattogram-1 (Mirsarai) was injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Feni district on this afternoon.

The accident occurred around 3:30 pm in the Mohammad Ali area under Feni Sadar Upazila while the MP was returning to Chattogram from Cumilla. Nurul Amin, who was elected on a BNP ticket, sustained injuries along with his driver Monir Hossain.

According to the driver, a motorcycle suddenly came in front of their vehicle on the highway. In an attempt to avoid a collision, he lost control of the car, which then crashed into the road divider. Local residents rushed to the scene and rescued them.

Both were first taken to Comfort Hospital in Bariyarhat, Mirsarai, where they received primary treatment. Later, they were shifted to Imperial Hospital in Chattogram city for further medical care.

Dr. Rezaul Karim of Comfort Hospital said the MP suffered injuries to his face, head, waist and back. He received immediate treatment and was later referred to a hospital in Chattogram for advanced care. His condition is currently reported to be stable.

Officer-in-Charge of Zorarganj Police Station, Kazi Nazmul Haque, confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident, which occurred in neighboring Feni district. The MP is now under observation at a private hospital in Chattogram.
