from four parliamentary constituencies in Natore have lost their deposits in
the 13th National Parliamentary Election.
According to election officials, only four BNP candidates, three Jamaat-e-
Islami candidates and two independent contenders managed to secure enough
votes to retain their deposits. The remaining candidates failed to obtain the

constituencies, resulting in forfeiture of their deposits.
District Election Officer Md. Nazrul Islam said the deposits were forfeited
in accordance with Election Commission rules, which require a candidate to
secure at least 12.5 percent of the total valid votes cast in a constituency
to retain the deposit.

votes among a limited number of candidates across the district's four
constituencies.
