Morshed Milton pledges focus on peace, education, and healthcare

BOGURA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - Morshed Milton of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has been elected unofficially as the Member of Parliament for the Bogra-7 constituency, which comprises the upazilas of Gabtoli and Shahjahanpur.

Milton secured a decisive victory by receiving 262,501 votes, while his nearest rival, Golam Rabbani of the Daripalla symbol, garnered 115,184 votes. A total of 380,250 voters cast their ballots across 173 centers, marking a 71.86 percent turnout.

Speaking after the announcement of the results, Milton described the win as a reflection of “the long-standing expectations of the common people.” He outlined his priorities for the constituency, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace and order, enhancing education and healthcare, and creating new opportunities for youth.

“I will do my utmost to uphold the trust the people placed in me during the election period,” Milton added.

This victory reinforces BNP’s strong position in the Bogra-7 constituency and sets the stage for the party’s local development initiatives.
