Dipen Dewan vows to maintain communal harmony, work for all in Rangamati

RANGAMATI, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - Newly elected BNP candidate for the Rangamati parliamentary constituency, Advocate Dipen Dewan, has expressed his firm commitment to working with all residents of the district to maintain communal harmony.

Dewan, who has been unofficially declared the winner, stated that this victory does not belong solely to the BNP, but to the entire population of Rangamati. 

He emphasized that the election results represent a victory for democracy, as the people were able to exercise their right to express their democratic will.

"Even though the public mandate has come in our favor, we will work for the welfare of every single person," he told reporters at the party office today, following an exchange of greetings with leaders of the BNP and its affiliate organizations.

The newly elected leader highlighted that his future initiatives would prioritize balanced development and the empowerment of women in the district. 

He assured that there would be no discrimination in development efforts, pledging to focus on key sectors including education, health, and agriculture.

The meeting at the party office was attended by Rangamati District BNP President Dipon Talukdar Dipu, former parliamentary candidate Moitri Chakma, Vice-Presidents Saiful Islam Bhutto and Advocate Saiful Islam Ponir, and General Secretary Advocate Mamunur Rashid Mamun, among other local leaders.

Earlier in the morning, people from all walks of life gathered at Dewan's residence to congratulate him with floral wreaths. Later, when he arrived at the district BNP office for the first time since his victory, he was warmly received by party activists. 

Dewan expressed his profound gratitude to the general public for electing him with a massive number of votes.
