CHATTOGRAM, Feb 7, 2026 (BSS) - BNP standing committee member and Chattogram-11 constituency candidate Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury today said no foreign power would be allowed to control Bangladesh.

He made the remarks while addressing an election rally at the Fatikchhari Government College ground in support of BNP candidate Sarwar Alamgir for the Chattogram-2 (Fatikchhari) constituency.

Calling on party leaders and activists, Khasru urged them to work tirelessly to ensure BNP's victory in the national parliamentary elections scheduled for February 12.

The rally, organized by the upazila BNP, was presided over by former joint general secretary of North District BNP Md. Salauddin.

Khasru said February 12 is not merely a voting day, but a historic occasion to return state ownership to the people of Bangladesh. He described the day as crucial for restoring democracy, ensuring constitutional and political rights and forming an elected government accountable to the citizens.

Emphasizing the need for an elected parliament and a people-responsive government, he said such leadership is essential for building a peaceful and stable society.

Highlighting the importance of the upcoming vote, Khasru noted that BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has advised voters to offer Tahajjud prayers before going to polling stations. He urged people to respect the sacrifices made over the years and to express their will through the ballot.

Referring to the country's challenging situation, Amir Khasru said BNP has consistently earned public trust during critical moments and called on voters to stand with the party once again.
