DHAKA, Aug 20, 2026 (BSS) -The government has extended the contractual appointment of Prof. Dr. Nazmul Hossain as the Director General (DG) of the Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME) for another one year.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard on August 17.

According to the notification signed by Deputy Secretary of the ministry Golam Rabbani, Prof. Dr. Nazmul Hossain has been reappointed as DG of the DGME under section 49 of the Government Service Act, 2018, in continuation of his previous contract.

The appointment has been made subject to the suspension of his un-availed post-retirement leave and related benefits, as well as relinquishing any engagement with other profession, business, or government, semi-government or private institution or organization.

The new term of his contractual appointment will be effective from August 24.

The notification, issued in the public interest, also stated that other terms and conditions of the contractual appointment will be determined through the contract agreement.
