DHAKA, Feb 7, 2026 (BSS) - Aminul Haque, BNP candidate for the Dhaka-16 constituency and former national football team captain, today warned that the presence of outsiders and any attempts to create chaos in the area will not be tolerated.

Speaking at a gathering in Mirpur-12 and nearby camp areas, Aminul said, "Outsiders' presence and chaos won't be tolerated. A candidate from another party is bringing outsiders into different areas here. But according to the election code of conduct, no one can remain in the constituency unless they are a registered voter of that area."

He added that many unfamiliar faces have been seen in rival processions and rallies and that authorities, including the returning officer and law enforcement agencies, have been informed.

Highlighting his long-standing connection with the area, he said, "I grew up here and know the problems of every resident, from the alleys to the streets. I am not giving empty promises; I have a concrete plan based on my experience. If the 'Sheaf of the Paddy' is voted to form the government, all plans will be implemented."

Aminul Haque also emphasized his commitment to addressing the basic issues of the constituency.

Seeking votes from nearly 400,000 registered voters, he appealed, "We have almost equal numbers of male and female voters here. I urge everyone to come out on polling day and exercise their right to vote. Your single vote can help establish a government accountable to the people."

Describing the current pre-poll situation as satisfactory, he said, "The level playing field is fine, but we and law enforcement agencies remain vigilant. Anyone attempting to incite unrest or create chaos will be firmly dealt with, together with the local residents."

During the meeting, residents of the camp areas raised various local issues. Aminul Haque exchanged greetings with the people and distributed leaflets outlining his development plans.

A large number of leaders and activists of the local BNP and its affiliates attended the event.
