DHAKA, Feb 7, 2026 (BSS) - Barrister Zaima Rahman, daughter of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, today took part in an electoral outreach campaign to seek votes for her father in the Dhaka-17 constituency.

She began the campaign around 12 pm from the Police Plaza area in Gulshan and moved through different roads, engaging with the general public and distributing election leaflets.

She handed out leaflets to pedestrians, rickshaw pullers, CNG drivers, shopkeepers, street vendors, and voters visiting shopping malls.

Zaima Rahman also visited offices and banks in the area, requesting support for her father, the candidate for the 'Sheaf of Paddy' symbol.

Addressing voters, she said, "My father Tarique Rahman is the candidate for 'Sheaf of Paddy' in Dhaka-17. I seek your votes for him. Please make him victorious by voting for the Sheaf of Paddy."

Fatema Khatun, caregiver of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, accompanied Zaima Rahman during the campaign.

Despite the presence of security personnel, Zaima directly mingled with people throughout the outreach, which started from Gulshan Police Plaza and continued up to Gulshan-1 Circle. Many residents stopped to take pictures with her, which she gladly permitted.
