DHAKA, Feb 6, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairman Tarique Rahman has provided aid to the families affected by a fire in Bhashantek slum in the capital.
Earlier, a fire broke out on Thursday night in Bhashantek slum due to an electrical short circuit. At least five houses were completely damaged in the incident, leaving the affected families in severe distress after losing all their belongings.
Upon receiving news of the incident, BNP Chairman's Adviser Professor Dr Farhad Halim Donar, Engineer Abdur Rahman Sunny, and Member Secretary of 'Amra BNP Paribar' agriculturist Moksedul Momin Mithun rushed to the scene carrying a message of sympathy on behalf of Tarique Rahman.
The leaders inquired about the affected families, observed their overall condition on the spot, and provided immediate financial assistance. On behalf of Tarique Rahman, they also pledged to rebuild the homes of the affected families.
Amra BNP Paribar members, doctors from the Ziaur Rahman Foundation and local BNP leaders were present.
