PIROJPUR, Feb 5, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer and chief of the 11-party alliance Dr Shafiqur Rahman is scheduled to visit Pirojpur tomorrow (Friday) to attend an election rally ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliament election.
The information was disclosed at a press conference organized by the district Jamaat-e-Islami on Wednesday.
Dr Shafiqur Rahman will address a public meeting at the Pirojpur Government High School grounds at 11:00 am on February 6. His visit has generated widespread enthusiasm among party leaders and activists across the district, organizers said.
Several senior leaders will accompany the Jamaat Ameer, including Jamaat’s Central Assistant Secretary General Moazzem Hossain Helal, Bangladesh Labour Party Chairman Mostafizur Rahman Iran, Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (JAGPA) spokesperson Al Rashed Pradhan, National Citizen Party (NCP) spokesperson Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, and Central Joint Member Secretary Mahmuda Akhter Mitu.
Jamaat-nominated candidates Masud Sayedee (Pirojpur-1) and Shamim Sayedee (Pirojpur-2), along with NCP-nominated and Jamaat-supported candidate Dr Shamim Hamidi (Pirojpur-3), will also attend the rally. Leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami from different levels of the district are expected to be present.
Speaking at the press conference, District Ameer Principal Tafazzal Hossain Farid said the visit of the Jamaat Ameer and the public meeting hold significant importance for the people of Pirojpur.
He added that Dr Shafiqur Rahman will interact with local residents and deliver a speech outlining directions for national reconstruction amid the current political and social situation.
Farid also said that preparations for the public meeting, including stage construction and logistical arrangements, are in the final stages.
