DHAKA, Feb 4, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman will address the nation on February 9 ahead of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election and referendum.

The address is scheduled to be broadcast at 9:00pm on Monday (February 9) as part of Jamaat's election campaign activities, said a party press release.

The party said Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, as a responsible political organisation, remains firmly committed to fulfilling the expectations and aspirations of the people.

It added that Jamaat-e-Islami on Tuesday formally submitted an application to the Chief Election Commissioner seeking permission to broadcast the address through state-run Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Bangladesh Betar.

"We hope that the Chief Election Commissioner will take the necessary steps and grant approval to broadcast the Jamaat Ameer's address at the scheduled time," the press release said.
