DINAJPUR, Feb 04, 2026 (BSS)– BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman will visit three northern districts Dinajpur, Thakurgaon and Nilphamari on February 7 as part of his election campaign.

BNP Standing Committee Member and BNP-nominated candidate for the Dinajpur-6 constituency Dr AZM Zahid Hossain told journalists this afternoon after a meeting at Dinajpur party office.

Dr Zahid Hossain said Tarique Rahman will conduct election campaign in the three districts of the Rangpur division by helicopter instead of travelling by road.

Although February 7 has been fixed for the visit, the exact schedule is yet to be finalised, he said, adding that it will depend on security arrangements, weather conditions and decisions of the tour coordinators.

He said on the day, Tarique Rahman will address public rallies in Dinajpur, Thakurgaon and Nilphamari in support of the party nominated candidates.

Tarique Rahman is scheduled to speak at election rallies for BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, party’s candidate for Thakurgaon-1 (Sadar); BNP Standing Committee Member Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, the party’s candidate for Dinajpur-6 and BNP-nominated candidate for Nilphamari-2, Shahrin Islam Tuhin.

Dr Zahid Hossain said meetings have been held with district BNP leaders and activists to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the BNP chairman’s election rally in Dinajpur, adding that preparatory activities have already begun.

He also said Tarique Rahman is expected to visit the graves of his late maternal grandfather Iskandar Majumder, maternal grandmother Taiyaba Majumder and his aunt, former minister Khurshid Jahan Haque, on the same day.
