State reform, good governance, citizen services, highlighted in Islami Andolon manifesto

DHAKA, Feb 4, 2026 (BSS) - Charmonai Pir and Islami Andolon Bangladesh (IAB) Ameer Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim today unveiled his party's election manifesto, emphasizing state reform, principled governance, economic growth, regional development, employment generation, and citizen services as its main political goals.

The manifesto, titled "Manifesto of Public Expectations," was unveiled at a programme in the capital ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election this afternoon.

The IAB Ameer said the manifesto is a pledge to the nation, adding that his party would remain firmly committed to implementing every promise outlined in the document if it were to be voted to power.

He said, as the majority of Bangladeshis are Muslim, Shariah-based justice, fairness, and accountability would be ensured across all levels of state governance.

The manifesto outlines 31 fundamental issues and 12 special programmes under three chapters - principled positions in state formation, state reform and sector-based development.

It pledges to establish good governance, eradicate corruption, build a discrimination-free state system, uphold women's dignity and rights, ensure security for minorities and small ethnic communities, and simplify citizen services.

The special programmes include monthly cash assistance of Taka 5,000 for the extreme poor, nutritious food for primary school students, interest-free loans for youths, a universal health card, a national job portal, reform of urban public transport, price control of essential commodities and full implementation of Qawmi certificates.

The manifesto also promises to introduce proportional representation (PR) in national elections, ensure a balance of power, build an efficient and service-oriented public administration, reform the revenue system and develop a self-reliant defence mechanism.

Speakers at the event said the "Manifesto of Public Expectations" presents a roadmap for building a welfare state where justice, human dignity, religious freedom and economic prosperity are given equal importance.

They also said the manifesto reflects the aspirations of the Liberation War and the July 24 mass uprising.
