Jamaat Ameer to visit Kurigram on February 4

KURIGRAM, Feb 2, 2026 (BSS) – Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman will visit Kurigram on February 4 to attend election campaign, creating widespread enthusiasm among party leaders and activists across the district.
 
On the occasion, a view-exchange meeting with journalists was held today here in preparation for the arrival of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and top leaders of an 11-party alliance at an election rally scheduled for February 4.
 
The meeting took place at 11:00 am at the district Jamaat-e-Islami office in the Khattar Gola area of the district town. It was organized by the Kurigram District Jamaat-e-Islami.
 
Speaking at the meeting, District Jamaat Ameer Professor Md. Azizur Rahman Swapan said that a large election rally will be held at the Kurigram Government College Ground at 9:00 am on February 4 in support of the alliance candidates contesting the four parliamentary seats of the district.
 
He said Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman will attend the rally as the chief guest. Other prominent leaders scheduled to address the rally include NCP Central Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, South Region Chief Organizer Hasnat Abdullah, DUCSU VP Sadik Kayem, and senior leaders of the 11-party alliance.
Candidates from the alliance contesting the four parliamentary constituencies in Kurigram will also be present at the public meeting.
 
District Jamaat Secretary Nizam Uddin, Co-Secretaries Maulana Abdul Hamid and Shahjalal Haque Sabuj, District Baitul Mal Secretary Jahrul Islam, NCP District Convener Md. Mukul Mia, Khelafat Majlis Rangpur Assistant Director Sabebor Mia, along with leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami were present.
