DHAKA, Jan 24, 2026 (BSS) - The National Citizen Party (NCP) today launched
its election theme song at Shahbagh, Dhaka, marking the start of its campaign
ahead of the upcoming 13th parliamentary polls.
The event was held on a simple mat in front of the National Museum and
inaugurated by NCP spokesperson Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan. The event drew
participants from across the party and members of the local community.
Speaking at the launch, Asif Mahmud said the location was chosen
deliberately. "Shahbagh is where our political journey began and grew. That
is why we launched the theme song right here, in the street, among the
people," he said.
He emphasized the inclusive nature of the initiative, noting, "This theme
song is for ordinary citizens from all walks of life, not for celebrities or
five-star venues."
"It represents hard working people, including members of marginalized
communities. We wanted a place where everyone could participate freely and
feel represented," he added.
Asif explained that the theme song serves multiple purposes: introducing the
party, outlining its election vision, and familiarizing voters with the
Shapla-koli (water lily-bud) election symbol.
"We have made every effort to ensure a high-quality output, and we hope it
resonates with the people," he added.
NCP Joint Convener Monira Sharmin, Jatiya Jubo Shakti Convener Tarikul Islam,
and leaders and activists from various party wings joined the event.
