NCP election campaign to begin with tribute to three leaders’ shrine, martyr’s grave

DHAKA, Jan 21, 2026 (BSS) - The election campaign of the National Citizen Party (NCP) will officially begin tomorrow with visits to the shrine of the three great leaders— AK Fazlul Huq, Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy and Khwaja Nazimuddin and the grave of martyred Sharif Osman Hadi.

The programme will start at 10:30 am with the shrine and grave visits, said a press release.

NCP Convener Nahid Islam, Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, Election Steering Committee Chairman Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan, Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari, Senior Joint Convener Ariful Islam Adeeb, Monira Sharmin, Javed Rasin, Dilshana Parul, Nabila Tasnid, among other party leaders, will be present on the occasion.

After the shrine and grave visits, the campaign procession will begin from the shrine of the three Leaders and proceed towards the National Press Club.

A.K. Fazlul Huq (1873-1962), Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy (1892-1963), and Khwaja Nazimuddin (1894-1964) — were such brave leaders, who had immense contribution to the pre-liberation politics in the 20th century. 

Though, they died on different dates, they were buried under the same roof, which is now mostly known as 'Tin Netar Mazar', ( The shrines of three leaders ) located near Doel Chattar, Dhaka University area  under Shahbag thana .
