Mirza Abbas urges voters not to heed any incitement

DHAKA, Jan 14, 2026 (BSS)- BNP Standing Committee Member and BNP nominated candidate in Dhaka- 8 constituency Mirza Abbas today called upon voters not to pay heed to any kind of incitement.

He said, "Many are making provocative statements violating the Election Commission's rules. I urge voters not to pay attention to any kind of incitement."

Mirza Abbas made the remarks while exchanging greetings with the general public in the Nayapaltan area of the city. 

He said, "I urge the voters of my area to keep themselves away from any provocative messages. Our activists are alert; they are very disciplined and peaceful. They will not yield to any provocation. However, I call upon the Election Commissioner to pay attention to these matters," he added.

Expressing concern over the law and order situation in the area, this senior BNP leader said, "Some candidates are making provocative statements so that the situation worsens further. 

They want an incident to occur and the code of conduct is being violated."

He said, we are not conducting any formal campaign. We are maintaining contact with the general public.

Mentioning the postal ballot papers, he said, "What we are seeing on the ballot papers is intentional, the Election Commission should fix it quickly."

A large number of local BNP leaders, activists, and general voters were present with Mirza Abbas during the exchange of greetings in the Nayapaltan area.
