DHAKA, Jan 10, 2026 (BSS) – The University Teachers’ Association of Bangladesh (UTAB) today congratulated Tarique Rahman on assuming office as Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

In a statement, UTAB President Professor Dr ABM Obaidul Islam and its Secretary General Professor Dr Md Morshed Hasan Khan extended their greetings, expressing confidence that democracy would be restored in the country under his leadership.

They said Tarique Rahman was unanimously entrusted with the chairmanship by the BNP National Standing Committee in line with the party’s constitution.

The UTAB leaders noted that BNP has become well-organised from grassroots to central level under his leadership and expressed hope that he would further strengthen the party and work for protecting the fundamental rights of the people.

UTAB wished Tarique Rahman continued success, sound health and a long life.
