DHAKA, Dec 30, 2025 (BSS) - The Detective Branch (DB) of police has arrested a terrorist along with a foreign-made revolver, a pistol and ammunition from Pallabi in the city.

The arrested person was identified as Ashikur Islam Shanto, 20, according to a press release issued by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media and public relations division today.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman said that based on secret information, the Organised Crime and Car Theft Prevention and Recovery Team of the DB, along with the Mirpur Zonal Team, conducted a joint operation in Pallabi around 11:00 pm last night (December 29) and arrested him.

A case was filed with Pallabi Police Station in this regard.

Ashikur and other members of the group have long been involved in various terrorist activities, including drug trafficking, extortion and robbery, in the Pallabi area.

He is accused in 10 cases, including robbery, theft and drug trafficking.
