DSE expresses profound shock over passing away of Khaleda Zia

DHAKA, Dec 30, 2025 (BSS)  – The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has expressed deep condolences following the death of Begum Khaleda Zia, the former Prime Minister of Bangladesh and Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
 
In a message of condolence issued today, DSE Chairman Mominul Islam, representing the Board of Directors, and Managing Director Nuzhat Anwar, representing the management authority, shared their profound sorrow.
 
 They offered prayers for the peace of her departed soul and extended their heartfelt sympathies to her family, relatives, and political followers.
 
Chairman Mominul Islam highlighted that her extensive political journey was marked by honesty, principles, responsibility, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of the public.
 
 He noted that she spent her life fighting for democratic values and played a unique role in strengthening the country's national economic structure.
 
He further described her personality—characterized by simplicity, humanity, and foresight—as a lasting example for the nation.
 
 Managing Director Nuzhat Anwar emphasized that while serving the country, Khaleda Zia prioritized national unity, harmony, and progress.
 
 Anwar remarked that Khaleda Zia's ‘wise leadership’ provided a path through various crises during periods of political instability, ensuring she remains a significant figure in the hearts of the people.
