DHAKA, Dec 29, 2025 (BSS) – Police today filed a case under arms act against Foysal Karim Masud, prime accused in the case filed over the murder of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.

Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station officer-in-charge Mohammad Monirul Islam confirmed the matter BSS today, adding the case was filed on December 23.

“We are conducting probe in the case,” he said.

Sharif Osman Hadi, also an independent parliamentary candidate for Dhaka-8, was shot on December 12 in the capital’s Bijoynagar Box Culvert area. According to the case statement, two assailants riding a motorcycle opened fire on Hadi while he was travelling in a battery-run rickshaw and then fled the scene.

Inqilab Mancho  member secretary Abdullah Al Zaber filed an attempt to murder case with Paltan Model Police Station on December 14.

The court, however, on December 20, ordered the inclusion of Section 302 (murder) of the Penal Code in the case, converting it into a murder case following Hadi’s death on December 18.
