DHAKA, Dec 27, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) have launched a special nationwide free medical campaign for its members and family members as part of the force's ongoing humanitarian and welfare-oriented activities.
Under the programme, three-day-long free medical camps will be organised in phases from today until January 13, 2026, in four districts - Bogura, Jamalpur, Bhola and Lalmonirhat, said a press release today.
Through these camps, Ansar and VDP members and their families will be able to receive medical services completely free of cost, it said, adding, "The first phase of the programme was inaugurated today at the premises of Gabtali Government College in Bogura district."
The formal inauguration of the Bogura camp was conducted by Bogura District Commandant of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party Md Saddam Hossain.
Ansar and VDP members have been performing their duties with dedication, professionalism and self-sacrifice in maintaining law and order and taking part in various development activities across the country.
Ensuring healthcare and wellbeing of these members and their families is regarded as a moral and social responsibility of the force. The free medical campaign has been organised as a practical reflection of this commitment, said the release.
Under the medical service programme, a range of essential healthcare services are being provided, including eye and dental treatment.
Eye specialists are conducting necessary examinations, while arrangements have also been made for free cataract surgeries in appropriate cases. Dental specialists are offering modern dental treatment along with necessary medical advice.
Besides, general health check-ups for patients suffering from common ailments are being carried out, along with medical consultations and free distribution of essential medicines.
Organised under the overall guidance of the Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party, participants of the medical campaign expressed satisfaction and gratitude after receiving the healthcare services.
The free medical campaign is not merely a healthcare initiative but also a strong expression of the force's humanitarian responsibility, accountable leadership and social commitment towards the welfare of its members and their families, said the release.
Through this programme, mutual trust and morale within the force are expected to increase, while the positive image of Ansar and VDP in society will be further strengthened.
Experienced physicians, along with officials and employees of Ansar and VDP from different levels, were present at the inauguration ceremony.
