DHAKA, Dec 26, 2025 (BSS) - A fire that broke out at the Khaddar Bazar Shopping Complex at Zero Point in Gulishtan, Dhaka, this afternoon was brought under control by firefighters in the evening.

According to Fire Service media officer Anwarul Islam, the fire erupted at around 5:28 pm in a godown located on the roof of the eight-storey commercial building. 

Firefighters received the alert immediately and reached the scene within five minutes, at 5:33 pm.

Initially, six firefighting units from the Siddiq Bazar Fire Station were deployed to tackle the blaze. 

Later, a total of nine units worked at the scene and successfully brought the fire under control by around 6:58 Islam confirmed.

No casualties have been reported so far.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage could not be determined immediately.
