DHAKA, Dec 25, 2025 (BSS) – Three accused, including the wife of prime suspect Foysal Karim Masud gave confessional statements in the case filed over the murder of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.
The accused are Saheda Pervin Samia, wife of Foysal Karim Masud, her brother Wahid Ahmed, and Foysal’s friend Maria Akter Lima.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Aminul Islam Zunayed recorded the confessional statements of Samia and Wahid, while Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Kamal Uddin recorded Lima’s statement under Section 164 last night.
The trio were produced before the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court after completion of their two rounds of remand in the case.
Investigating Officer of the Detective Branch (DB) of police, Inspector Foysal Ahmed, prayed to the court for recording their confessional statements, saying the accused persons were willing to confess their involvement in the crime.
Earlier, on December 15, the court of Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Joshita Islam placed each of the three accused on a five-day remand. They were again placed on a further four-day remand on December 20 by the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Siddiq Azad.
On December 20, the court ordered the inclusion of Section 302 (murder) of the Penal Code in the case following the death of Sharif Osman Hadi on December 18, which was initially filed as an attempted murder.
Sharif Osman Hadi spokesperson of Inqilab Moncho and an aspirant of coming parliamentary election and was shot on December 12 in the capital’s Bijoynagar Box Culvert area.
Two assailants riding on a motorcycle opened fire on Hadi while he was travelling by a battery-run rickshaw.
Inqilab Moncho Member Secretary Abdullah Al Zaber filed the case with Paltan Model thana on December 14.
