DHAKA, Dec 23, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi today said a grand mass gathering will take place on the occasion of homecoming of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman on December 25.

“After a long 17-year break, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is returning home on December 25. A grand gathering of people will take place to welcome him on that day. We are expecting the presence of half a crore people," he said.

While inspecting the progress of the reception stage this afternoon, Rizvi said all measures are being taken by the party, along with the government, to ensure the security of the event. 

“The government is also sincere about Tarique Rahman's security,” he added.

The senior BNP leader said Tarique Rahman will first attend the reception after reaching home on December 25 and then he will visit his mother, BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, at Evercare Hospital.
