DHAKA, Dec 21, 2025 (BSS) - A Dhaka court today imposed a travel ban on two National Board of Revenue (NBR) officials, Joint Commissioner of Taxes Mohammad Morshed Uddin Khan and Deputy Commissioner of Taxes Md Shihabul Islam.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Court vacation bench Judge Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun passed the order following two separate petitions filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

According to the petitions, allegations were brought against the two officials for acquiring wealth beyond their known sources of income. The ACC said the verification of their wealth statements is currently underway.

The commission expressed apprehension that the investigation and verification process could be hampered if the accused leave the country. To ensure a fair and proper investigation, the ACC sought a ban on their foreign travel.
