DHAKA, Dec 18, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of the Inqilab Mancha, who had been receiving treatment in Singapore after being shot in the capital's Purana Paltan area.
A condolence message was posted on BNP's verified Facebook page tonight.
"We are deeply saddened by the death of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of the Inqilab Manch and an aspiring independent candidate from the Dhaka-8 constituency," reads the message.
Sharif Osman Hadi, the fearless frontline fighter of the July Uprising, passed away tonight while undergoing treatment at a Singapore hospital after fighting for his life for six days.
On December 12, he was shot in the capital's Bijoynagar Box Culvert area under Paltan Police Station. He was critically injured and underwent surgery at Dhaka Medical College Hospital before being admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.
Later, he was taken by air ambulance to Singapore for advanced treatment.
