CMP Commissioner warns for tougher action to eliminate terrorists

CHATTOGRAM, Dec 18, 2025 (BSS)- Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Hasib Aziz today warned of applying tougher action  to eliminate terrorists in the port city and said that police would not tolerate existence of any  terrorists band  or group  in any name excepting  police.  

“ We must adopt stern measures to abolish the existence of terror gangs in the names like “Sazzad Bahini, Laltu Bahini or Paltu Bahini” in order to bring tranquillity and stability in the society” he said while addressing at a views exchange meeting with journalists at Chattogram Press Club ( CPC) . 

CPC Executive Committee organized the meeting held at its Karnaphuli hall on Thursday morning. 

CMP Commissioner Hasib Aziz, also additional IGP of police alleged that a quarter has been trying to create panic ahead of upcoming national polls and the fallen fascist forces and their external masters have attempted to turn Bangladesh a failed state. 

“The next national election is ‘litmus test’ for fallen fascists. So we have to do whatever needed so that they could fail in this test” he said. 

By taking advantages of turmoil and lawlessness situation on August 5, 2024, the miscreants have looted away a large quantity of arms and ammunition from police stations. 

“But we have able to recover 80 percent of snatched arms and ammunition. We have information that rest 20 percent of them transported to terrorists in hills and we have put in maximum efforts to recover those before election” Hasib Aziz said . 

Law enforcement agencies would adopt extended admonitory measures at minority-dominated polls centres, he added. 

Hasib Aziz said state machinery will collapse when all the state organs and institutions including executive, judiciary, law enforcement authority and media have been tilts on same alignments and what exactly happened in past 17 years that  resulted in establishing of a fascist regime

Terming Chief Adviser of Interim Government Prof. Muhammad Yunus as national asset, CMP Commissioner said he is only one personality who is acclaimed and admired by countrymen as well as by international community. 

“So we have to work together so that he would never be failed” he said.
