DHAKA, Dec 14, 2025(BSS) - The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) today filed a case against the Managing Director (MD) of private satellite television channel Bangla TV, Syed Samadul Haque for acquiring huge illegal wealth and money laundering.

ACC Director General Md Akhter Hossain disclosed the information to the journalists during a regular media briefing at the commission's headquarters in city's Segunbagicha area.

According to the ACC investigation, Bangla TV MD Samadul Haque has acquired and possessed illegal wealth worth about Taka 4,05,21,756 that is beyond his known sources of income. The commission for this reason filed the case under section 27(1) of the ACC Act-2004.

The ACC alleged that he has no legal documents regarding the wealth worth about Taka 3,53,59,044 but he tried to show the money as legal by converting it through layering. This offence is punishable under sub sections 2 and 3 under section 4 of the Money Laundering Prevention Act-2012.

The ACC, during its investigation, found a total wealth worth about Taka 11,41,66,771 belonging to Syed Samadul Haque but they provided valid documents against wealth worth about Taka 7,34,10,908. The commission found assets worth about Taka 4,07,55,863 that was contrary to his known sources of income.
