DHAKA, Dec 12, 2025 (BSS) - National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Md Nahid Islam visited Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) today to see Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inquilab Mancha and independent candidate for Dhaka-8 constituency, who was shot earlier in the day.

Speaking to reporters after the visit, Nahid said that activists of the July Uprising, injured fighters, and families of those killed were facing constant threats.

He alleged that the fallen fascist Awami League has become a security threat to the state and its people.

Nahid said those who took part in the 2024 July Uprising along with ordinary citizens continued to face insecurity, adding, recent incidents indicated the attack on Hadi was not isolated but part of a broader attempt to destabilise the country since August 5, 2024.

He said political groups under different banners remained united on "the question of July and the question of Bangladesh," and urged July Uprising activists and all anti-fascist political forces to come together.

The NCP convener demanded the arrest of those involved in the shooting within 24 hours and called for accountability from the adviser to the home ministry and the Election Commission. Ensuring the safety of all citizens and July activists was essential, he added.

Earlier in the afternoon, Hadi was shot in the capital's Bijoynagar area. He was rushed to DMCH and subsequently to the Evercare Hospital for better treatment.
