DHAKA, Dec 11, 2025 (BSS) - The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has rescued 12 women-seven of them minors-from a spa center in Dhaka's Banani area.
The raid took place on 10 December 2025 at the "Relax Zone Beauty Parlor and Salon," where CID's Serious Crime Unit arrested six members of an alleged human trafficking ring.
According to CID officials, the victims were brought from remote areas with false promises of high-paying jobs and later coerced into sexual exploitation.
A case was filed under sections 6/7/8/11/12 of the Prevention and Suppression of Human Trafficking Act, 2012.
The spa owner, Md. Mubarak Ali alias Sabuj, and building owner Md. Delwar Hossain have also been accused, with Delwar currently absconding.
CID official stated that investigations are ongoing to identify other individuals involved.
Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant against such trafficking schemes that often target vulnerable women from impoverished backgrounds.
