DHAKA, Dec 10, 2025 (BSS) - The Supreme Court Secretariat will be inaugurated tomorrow.

Chief Justice (CJ) Syed Refaat Ahmed will inaugurate the Secretariat at an event scheduled to be held at 2:30 pm at Administrative Building-4 of the Supreme Court (SC) premises.

Md Shafiqul Islam, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Bangladesh Supreme Court, confirmed the matter to BSS today.

Earlier, the government issued the Supreme Court Secretariat Ordinance, 2025 with the aim of ensuring full independence of the judiciary. Through this ordinance, the judiciary has been officially separated from the executive 
branch.

The Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry issued the ordinance on November 30, and the Chief Justice has since been taking various steps in line with its provisions.
