KHULNA, Dec 9, 2025 (BSS) - Islami Andolon Bangladesh Ameer Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, popularly known as Pir Saheb Charmonai, has called for resisting extortionists, corrupt individuals and tender manipulators to ensure the country's development and humanitarian welfare. 

Speaking at an Ulema and dignitaries' conference in Rupsa upazila of Khulna this evening, he said the wrongdoings of extortionists and tender-grabbers must be exposed so that people can collectively stand against them.

"The soil of Khulna has always been a strong base of Islam," he said, praising the organisational activities in Rupsa, Terokhada and Dighalia.

At the event, Pir Saheb introduced the party's Secretary General and Rupsa native, Hafiz Maulana Principal Yunus Ahmad, as the Islami Andolon candidate for the Khulna-4 constituency under the "Hand Fan" electoral symbol.

The programme was presided over by Rupsa unit president Maulana Yusuf Ali and conducted by its secretary Maulana Harunur Rashid. Special guests included Nayeb-e-Ameer and Khulna-3 candidate Hafiz Maulana Principal Abdul Awal, and Khulna-4 candidate Principal Yunus Ahmad.

Speakers said that if elected, they would give priority to improving communication infrastructure, creating employment opportunities for the unemployed and upgrading healthcare and education facilities across the region.
