KHULNA, Dec 9, 2025 (BSS) – Central BNP’s Information Affairs Secretary and BNP candidate for Khulna-4 constituency Azizul Bari Helal said BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is the symbol of unity and she is known not only to the people of Bangladesh but also to the people across the world.
He made the remarks while addressing a doa and discussion meeting at Rupsha Ghat in Khulna this afternoon to seek prayers for the recovery of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
Highlighting Begum Zia’s political contribution and long struggle, Helal said, “Many conspiracies were plotted to harass and humiliate her. Begum Khaleda Zia, the symbol of national unity, was entangled in case after case. But by the grace of Almighty Allah, she has foiled all conspiracies with dignity.”
Speaking on her physical condition and medical care, he said that prayers for Begum Zia are being offered not only at Rupsha Ghat but in every corner of the country.
“World leaders are also enquiring about her health. Specialist doctors from the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany are engaged in her treatment. Even the governments of Germany and Qatar have kept air ambulances ready,” he added.
Referring to BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and Dr. Zubaida Rahman, who are monitoring her treatment, Helal said the medical team has reported gradual improvement in her condition. Once she will be medically fit to travel, she will be taken to London for advanced treatment, he added.
Helal sought prayers form all for Begum Zia’s quick recovery and for the restoration of the country’s “lost democracy.”
