DHAKA, Dec 9, 2025 (BSS) - The International Anti-Corruption Day-2025 was observed across the country today with a fresh vow to fight graft together.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) took elaborate programmes to observe the day.
Earlier in the day, ACC Chairman Dr Mohammad Abdul Momen inaugurated the day-long programme in front of the ACC headquarters here.
Later, an anti-graft awareness human chain programme was formed with the participation of the ACC officials, students of schools and colleges, and people from all walks of life.
Besides, a discussion was held today at the National Theatre Auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy here.
The International Anti-Corruption Day -2025 was observed globally with the slogan "Uniting with Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow's Integrity”.
In Chattogram, as part of the observance of the day, a discussion was held at Chattogram Shilpakala Academy auditorium with Chattogram Divisional Director of the ACC Rizia Khatun in the chair.
Chattogram Divisional Commissioner Dr Md Ziauddin attended the meeting as the chief guest.
A large number of people from all walks of life, including officials from various public and private organisations, joined a human chain formed this morning in front of District Shilpakala Academy.
In Khulna, a discussion was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office this morning where Khulna Divisional Commissioner Md Mokhtar Ahmed spoke as the chief guest.
Deputy Commissioner ASM Jamshed Khondaker presided over the event. Additional Police Commissioner of KMP Mohammad Rashidul Islam Khan, Additional DIG Zayn Uddin, Director of the ACC Khulna Divisional Office Jalal Uddin Ahmad, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, and President of the District Corruption Prevention Committee Professor Moni Mohan Saha spoke as special guests.
Marking the day, a colourful rally was brought out in Manikganj district town with the participation of government officials and people of all classes.
After the rally, a discussion was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner with Deputy Commissioner Nazmun Ara Sultana in the chair.
In Thakurgaon, the observance of the day began in the morning at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, where Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ishrat Farzana inaugurated the day’s events by releasing balloons.
The national flag and the anti-corruption flag were hoisted simultaneously when the national anthem was played.
Following the inauguration, the District Administration and the ACC jointly organised a human chain programme. A procession was brought out there too.
The day-long observance concluded with renewed commitments to raise awareness and inspire the younger generation to take a firm stance against graft.
In Rajshahi, a meeting was held at Zila Parishad Auditorium in the city with participation of public officials and members of civil society and others.
Commissioner of Rajshahi division Dr ANM Bazlur Rashid addressed the meeting as the chief guest with ACC Director Fazlul Haquein the chair while Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Dr Muhammad Shahjahan spoke as special guest..
In Rangpur, a rally and a human-chain programme and a discussion were held at the District Shilpakala Academy auditorium marking the day.
The district administration with District Combined Office of Anti Corruption Commission (ACC), District Corruption Prevention Committee (CPC), Transparency International Bangladesh and 'Sochetan Nagorik Samaj' organised the programmes.
Government officials, teachers, students, scouts, members of District CPC, civil society members and journalists joined the events.
In Jamalpur, the district administration, the ACC, District Corruption Prevention Committee (DCPC) and Conscious Citizen Committee (CCC) jointly organised different programmes. A rally and a discussion were held there marking the day.
A rally led by the Deputy Commissioner paraded the main roads and concluded reaching the Deputy Commissioner's office premises.
