CHATTOGRAM, Dec 8, 2025 ( BSS)- Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Dr Shahhadat Hossain today directed the officials to remain careful about public suffering while carrying out development works.

Referring to the ongoing work of sewerage projects of the Chattogram Wasa, the mayor said development workers should be careful digging or cutting road indiscriminately.

“Don’t cut the road which the CCC just has repaired or renovated. Instead, select the area which need to repair.”

Dr. Shahadat made the directives while speaking at a coordination meeting of CCC Engineering Department at CCC Bhavan this morning. 

The Mayor directed the CCC engineers to collect the DTP of the project from concerned organization and take approval first before cutting any road so that city dwellers do not suffer for haphazard and unplanned development work. 

Unplanned and disorganized execution of uplift schemes will also cause traffic congestion along with hindering smooth movement of citizens, the mayor said. 

The meeting also reviewed the latest condition of Dewanhat over-bridge. 
Mayor informed the meeting that the over-bridge is an important facility for city road network but too old and nearly in dilapidated condition. 

He said urgent step is required to repair the infrastructure and alternate facility to be developed there in coordination with Chattogram Development Authority (CDA).
