LAKSHMIPUR, Dec 5, 2025 (BSS)- BNP Joint Secretary General and Lakshmipur-3 (Sadar) candidate Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee today called BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia a “courageous woman,” saying she suffered imprisonment during the Liberation War and has faced injustice for many years.

Speaking at an election campaign meeting at Azim Shah School ground in Lakshmipur, Anne said that Khaleda Zia’s health deteriorated due to years of mistreatment.

People across the country are praying for her recovery, he said, adding that Khaleda Zia worked extensively for women’s development during her tenure as prime minister.

He also highlighted the contributions of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman to the Liberation War and national development, saying the Zia family gets respect at home and abroad.

Lakshmipur District BNP member secretary Sahab Uddin Sabu and other party leaders were present at the event.
