DNCC removes 247,000 banners, festoons, posters in Nov

DHAKA, Dec 4, 2025 (BSS) - Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) removed a total of 247,000 illegal banners, festoons, and posters across the city during the month of November. 

DNCC Administrator Mohammad Azaz disclosed the information today after a departmental review meeting on the “Banner–Festoon Removal Operation” held at Nagar Bhaban.
During the meeting, detailed statistics on banner, festoon, and poster removal activities conducted across 52 wards under 10 regions of DNCC was presented.

“During the previous month, we removed this huge banners, festoons, and posters mostly from main roads, highways, and important locations. The number is even higher in various lanes and by-lanes,” said Mohammad Azaz.

He further said that among the removed banners and posters, 28 percent were political, 21 percent from commercial establishments, and 17 percent belonged to various educational institutions.

Addressing the polluters, the DNCC Administrator said, “As partners of change, we hope no one will continue to make dirty the city in this manner. No positive change is possible through such disorder. City residents do not appreciate this kind of visual pollution.”

Urging political leaders and commercial institutions to help build a clean, orderly, and aesthetic Dhaka, he said, “Please refrain from such illegal publicity, and encourage your followers or associates to do the same.”

According to the report, region 3 recorded the highest removal, with 65,150 banners and festoons taken down. About 47,000 were removed in region 5 while 37,000 in region 2, and 33,000 in region 7.

DNCC has said that this cleanliness initiative will continue in future.
